2013 was a year of highs and lows - a very strange year. I did wonder if it would be unlucky 13, but it wasnt 100% that. Low times were the loss of Chez and Auntie Margaret earlier in the year, then Tony lost his Uncle mid year. It wasnt so much a surprise as he had not recovered well from a number of strokes, but then his Aunt died suddenly a few weeks after - that has been very hard on Tony's Mum. Dad had a bit of a health scare with his heart and it got to the point where it was restarted. Its kinda scary to realise that your parents are not immortal, still he came through the op and is doing really well so lets hope 2014 is better for him. The high time was we finally managed to sell our house and find the perfect pad in the country. So far its been amazing. The pool has worked out well, the house is lovely and now we have got rid of all our extra stuff both from the move and from the storage unit, its become home. We celebrated Christmas in it with Mum and Dad and...
Dear Diary...
Its Official! I have a blog and this is the place to see my news and views. Enjoy!
7 Months ago we moved in to the house, now its deffo home. Â Ive just finished off tidying the house and it really feels good. Got 2 trees this year, went for a white one in the lounge and love it. Â Downside, the presents have to go under the one in the dining room. Tomorrow Mum and Dad come for Christmas which Im looking forward to. Done all the food shopping except one more order from M+S tomorrow. Â Just hope the traffic isnt too bad as have no reason to hang around. Realised its 30yrs since Huw and I met in Oliver - thats a scary thought. Then I sold my four poster and made me remember Nick and I putting it up. Plus being back in Darren has bought back some good memories. I like having the house to myself when Tony isnt here but I do miss the physical side so its hard to watch couples on TV and stuff. Still, hes home tomorrow f...
Just over 4 weeks ago we moved in. Was a stressful day. Â Got up at 6am and started finishing off the packing. Cat was put in the little room and shut in for the day. Then spent all morning cleaning. Hard. The second van failed to turn up so we were running late, then they said that the plants and some other stuff wouldnt fit in. Â I wasnt a happy bunny. Â However, it did all fit in the end, but the storage unit was not going to be packed up. We finally left the house at just after half 2 and the car was jammed with stuff and I had Jaff between my legs with very little room to move!! Downside, Tom Tom was saying that the journey would get us to Spalding by half 5 - thats with no stops and the Estate Agents were closing at half 5. We were a bit panicked as we werent sure how Charlie would cope with the journey. Â We spent the journey speaking to the Agents about alternative arrangements and stopped once to stretch legs. So we were amazed when we got to Spalding at 5.3...
