Covid 19 Continues..... again

ARGH this will be the 3rd time Ive tried to write an update!  Not sure if its fate....  Wrote at the end of 2020 and lost it, wrote yesterday and it doesnt seem to have saved! So lets hope 3rd time is a charm!

So I left you in August last year when lockdown had eased, but we were not out of the woods just yet.

In September, I had a checkup for my eye.  Decided I should travel down on the train and do it in a day as we were back in Lockdown.  I had a seat in First Class but because of social distance everyone had to sit far apart.  Very strange.  Then the hospital was odd too.  Every other seat was taped so you had to sit apart, but there was hardly anyone in the waiting room anyway.

I was lucky as I saw Miss Minihan and she was happy with how the eye looked.  Nothing had changed but she is still keen to keep it as is.   We agreed to a yearly checkup.

Lockdown caused issues for T as he needed to visit his Dad who was going through chemo.  Sadly chemo didnt work...

Covid 19 Continues.....

So here we are in August 2020 and the virus continues to make things interesting.

My 50th was lovely.  T laid on a huge Fish platter and decorated the pool so we could sit outside.  It was a glorious evening.  I had loads of lovely gifts and it didnt matter that we were on lockdown.

The only difficult thing about my birthday was not being able to arrange anything with the family.

Dad's Birthday in June was also hard.  While restrictions had slightly eased, groups of 6 only were allowed to meet in gardens so I was unable to see him.  We did do a Zoom call which was good, but not the same.

I finally was able to go and see them for an overnight in mid July.  Dad had taken a fall one Saturday night and hurt his knee so was good to be able to see them and support them, but it was really hard saying goodbye as I didnt feel I should hug them to be on the safe side.

In mid April, we started doing Zoom quizzes for the family and friends, they worked really well a...

So 2020 is a big year for me as I hit 50.  Zero years always prove fun for me as they tally with a big birthday.

I actually wasnt too fussed about hitting 50.  Had decided it was going to be my year of 'no more shit' so was going to organise a few reunions of old friends and if things didnt go as hoped then was going to clear out my FB and other social media.

However, things are not going quite as Id planned.

2020 is the year of Covid19 - a Coronavirus.

Not sure exactly when things really hit the UK, but do remember cancelling a monthly pub meet in mid February as we were being told to stay away from others.

The Elderly were being told to stay inside.

Slowly companies sent their staff to work at home.

The Premier League stopped playing mid March and so our work dried up.  It wasnt looking good for us at that point.  We had savings, but were scrabbling around to see what other work we could generate.

Then 23 March was the big one.  Th...
